Some English caravans used to have the same type of finish, I had a CI Flair like that. It was difficult to keep it clean looking. I don't know for certain but I wonder if they use a thinner guage aluminum as the bobbles might give extra rigidity. In recent years many UK caravans have moved to an even thicker body shell. Be interesting if any one has the definitive answer.
