i was listening to the radio and they said they were talking to Meteorologists and they said the weather is not going to get better and this it weather wise,
My lovely OH & the kids have just had 3 weeks on Pentewan Sands, I went down last week & by golly the rain has been bad. I'd be surprised if some of the tent campers must have been flooded out. We were lucky, we got everything set up in the dry & we got everything packed away yesterday in the dry so it was all worth it.
The main thing for me is to set up & pack away dry, take some good books to read & keep the water & waste all sorted. Good weather is a bonus as long as everyone enjoys their time together & gets home safely.

Last two days in North Cornwall has been Wall to Wall sunshine. Loving it.

Not wishing to steer the thread off track, did you happen to hear on your local news whether both people pulled from the Sea near Mevagissey yesterday survived? People on pitches near us pulled them from the water, they were taken away by Road & Air ambulance. We left site before the news came on & never heard any more about them.
That Air ambulance service will get my support from now on, they're invaluable aren't they.
My very best wishes go to the families concerned & my admiration to the men who pulled them from the sea & brought them ashore.
Hello me again, who started this thread, down in Cornwall, we drove to Devon in horrendous conditions, arrived at Hillhead site, and was so fed up we towed with the idea of going home, set up in rain lashing it down, soaked to the skin !!!, however the weather has improved and had a lovely day yesterday, today we have moved to Cheddar and its lovely here, actually sat outside of the van for the afternoon !!!

If it's any consolation, we've just got back from 2 weeks in the Vendee and it rained for 3 of our last 5 days (although the other 2 days and the week before were goddamn glorious ).

the thing is we were here (cornwall, devon, cheddar) the same two weeks last year and it was beautiful, we are now talking about taking the van to France next year, our friends are there at the minute so we await their report !!!!
