name this dealer so other prospective buyers can beaware and not have to go through the trauma as you have.
I agree, we do not want people having similar issues. Which may lead to badly serviced/prepared caravan causing an accident!
We very nearly bought from that company this year. Glad we didn't. When a company sells something it has to be fit for purpose, no matter how old it is. It is up to the dealer to decide whether to repair or scrap. What they can't do is sell useless goods.
If you are the Brian A I think you are I thought you had given up caravans. Enjoy your trip to the Little Cotton. We had a look at the site a few weeks ago an it looked great. don't you usually go for the regatta?
Yes John H - It is I.
Still as gullible as ever it seems !
Regatta week is great at Dartmouth - but too busy for us pensioners - besides, my grandkids would have a fit it we went away without them in school holidays !
I presume you are still slaving at the Wirral Met.
aren't you the Principal yet?
Try the Caravan Club Consiton site, it's just been renovated and is really brilliant.
hope your new caravan you got from ebay makes up for all the stress you have had ,glad you got your money back and alerted folks down your way to the dodgey dealings, its good when people are made aware before they buy,you can feel better in yourself that you have given out the warning, good luck with your new van

No tarry it isn't that one . . . they sell plants on the same site though.
I know the one you mean and I too had problems with a van I bought from there. So much the service they were supposed to have done prior my collecting it. I could give you an endless list of issues, not to mention the two dangerous ones involving gas!
Since had it serviced by a reputable dealer, the gas issues have now been resolved, and most of the other issues have also been sorted. Just one or two which need dealing with but I am working on them.
They don't figure highly on my list of dealers and certainly would not use them again.
Aaah i know where you are now, funny enough we called in there last sunday and thought it looked a bit ropey, wife wasnt impressed at all. thanks forthe heads up.
We went there last year when we started to look for a van. The 'great deal' we were offered sounded ok at the time until we had a look at the prices in Flintshire Caravans and Discover Delamere for vans 5 years younger. When I went back for a second look I wasn't impressed - there wasn't a second hand van that didn't stink of damp.
However I did come across a different big dealer with worse second hand stock and at horrendous prices!
Edited to say I posted a good example of the stock in my gallery. The two pictures are the same van - a 1998 Compass Rallye GTE 490/4L
