I need your help.... I just cant contain my excitement, just ordered a Lunar Lexon 570 pick up on 10th September (will be longest 10 days of my life!!)
What security devices should I buy for it, for insurance/security purposes, I dont want it stolen.
I know i need at least a hitchlock and a wheel lock.... I've already got an old wheel lock, was thinking to buy a hitchlock (but which one?) and also an alko secure (insurance company mentioned it) to secure the other wheel, can you help/advise me what to buy?
What you need depends a bit on what the insurance company insist on (else they will decline to pay up if the van is stolen). We have a hitchlook and a wheel clamp. If the van has the alko secure wheel lock they are supposed to be better than a wheel clamp.
If you don't have the alko wheel lock, then I would suggest you make sure that the hitchlock and wheel clamp are of reasonable quality. Most camping accessory shops stock stuff that is 'gold sold secure'. Recently we've purchased stuff on line from Riversway Leisure rather than a local dealer.
Have you started getting quote's from insurance companies yet? We had to have a hitchlock and 2 wheel locks for our insurance. And don't forget that even on caravan sites the 'vans have to have all the locks on. I used to wonder why people put there wheel locks on there 'vans when on sites until my insurance for my new 'van told me that they were needed otherwise it's not covered.
