We've just bought a Numax Connect & Forget battery charger after finally realising the battery didn't charge from the EHU because there wasn't a charger fitted to the van! (can you tell we are new to all this!).
Do we just attach this to the battery & plug it in and carry on using the battery as normal or do we have to charge and then disconnect to use the battery? Sounds like a daft question (especially given the name of the charger...) but don't want to do something stupid with electricity...
It would help if you cn tell us the make/model and year of van. We had the same problem with a Adria 542UK 2008. It had a transformer that gave a constant 12.5v that ran the lights on the van. This wasn't enough to charge the battery and we could use the numax and transformer connected at the same time because of the low voltage being output from the transformer. If it's any higher than 13V the numax will think the battery is fully charged and won't kick in and in which case you could disconnect the tranformer and run the van off the baattery with the numax connected all the time. I presume the model you have is the 10A model which should be fine with the battery acting as a buffer.

Having looked it up, sems to me that the answer to your question is yes.
If it comes with normal houshold type plug, then clearly you can plug it into any socket in your van and it will come live when you connect ehu. Otherwise probably a good idea to connect it to the 6A circuit in your vans consumer unit.
