Hi

Recently arrived back from France, to find that when travelling on wet roads, water some how enters the van and lies on the lino floor. First time it happened the loose fitted carpets got soaking wet. As a precaution every time we moved onto our next site we lifted the carpets. Cannot really see where it is coming in, I feel it could be possibly a bad seal in the wheel arch. Goes back to the dealer on Saturday, is there any member out there that has had a similar problem? The ironic things is up to that time I had never travelled in wet conditions, so the fault would of not appeared. I have had the caravan only 18 months.

Cheers John

Have you tried a hose on the wheel arch just to see if water is coming in ?

Is the rubber door seal worn away at the bottom? you can replace the whole seal. As suggested above use hose to find leak.

On our GT60 380 there is an air vent at floor level at the front of the van - strong draught comes through there. I wonder if water is being thrown up and through that?

We had this when travelling in France with our Pageant in very wet weather and it is caused by the spray from other vehicles particularly when overtaking HGV's as the vent is on the lorry side, and also your own towcar kicking it up and straight into the fridge vents, we were panicing when it happened to us but after a good think we discovered what it was.

What model GT60 do you have?

We have a GT60 540/6 and found that there is a hole for the pipe from the sink drain to go through, behind the table stored in the cuboard under the sink. The hole, which is quite big (60mm or so at a guess) is just behind the wheel arch, with a few cables as well as the drain pipe going through it. We found that the water & muck was coming off the wheel and entering the caravan and getting the table all messy. Got the dealer to fill up the hole with mastic and haven't had a problem since.
