Hi Everyone, i can't begin to tell you all how amazed I am by your concern and help, it is humbling.
I will pass this information on as I do not want to start chasing round certain types of people myself. This whole incident has really shaken myself and my family and to be honest I'm not sleeping and am very jumpy.
My brother saw an exact double of my van about six miles away from our house but it was a few hours before ours went so there must be more of them out there than we realised.
