From a post on this board just a tip...ask them if your local dealer can do the servcing and any warranty work. They will say that it can, but then ask them to provide a written guarantee that a local dealer will do such work.
Posts on here have indicated that as warranties require you to take the van back to the original seller, many dealers just look after their own customers and so may not deal with a "stragers" van. Local dealers are not bound by statements from salesmen at shows. The journey back to the original dealer may be an expensive jaunt which can be avoided by that simple question

Most dealers are represented at the show on the manufacturers stands. If you are offered a deal then go back to your local dealer and see if he will match it. They usually will. Don't buy anything that means you are miles from the supplying dealer.
Read the manufacturers warranty - it says that you have to take it back to the dealer you bought it from for any warranty work. Then, if you are unfortunate to get into a dispute along consumer law rights matters, as opposed to warranty matters, you have to go back to the original dealer.
Many folks do find a good deal further afield and then find problems getting issues resolved without a long expensive round trip back to the dealer. Then you can a good deal and even after a long round trip you will still be ahead. Its just about going in aware of potential risks and taking a view.

The quote is from a dealer some way away - has anyone had problems getting warranty work or servicing done by a local dealer please?
Why have you only got a week to decide?
Sounds like he wants to do the deal before the show.
Yep you are quite right - he wants to sell before the show, saying that if we buy now we can have delivery mid-October or at the latest mid-November. Saying that once orders from the show get into the system there may well be a long wait - which seems feasible?

Try ringing another dealer and see if you can get the same or better deal.

Unicorn Barcelona - twin axle. We are going travelling around Europe on retirement - which is imminent!
Ah! We looked at one of those last week. Very nice van but I did think that you were paying for not a lot more space and two extra wheels when the Valencia was almost the same and a lot easier to handle than a twin axle particularly as you want to go touring in Europe. Not all sites on the continent are that keen on twins as they cut up the pitches.
We would have bought one if Bailey did an isalnd or twin bed version.
Try Chichester Caravans for a deal if you don't mind travelling.
We were going for the Valencia until they brought out the Barcelona. We particularly want the fridge freezer which few single axle caravans have - although it is not a deal breaker! Also the storage, which seems to be the best - admittedly not much better than the Valencia. We've looked at most of the new ones on the market and feel the Barcelona supplies what we will really need.

Hmm I think if you can sort out warranty work at your local dealer then Show may be the best option we were offered up to £2k off the price of a Lunar Quasar plus extra kit. We were also at a big Coachman dealer just after the last show and they told me matter of factly to wait for the next show before buying as nothing they could offer as a dealership could match their show prices.
