Well I can't advise real longevity as mines only a 2009 but even with our 3&6 year olds and two young boys the family before us had & its still in showroom condition. I can't think of a single bit of wear actually.
Yes we have a 2008 Delta which is fabulous ,the fact that Lunar vans are light doesn't necessarily mean they are flimsy. They are very well fitted out and it is more sturdy than our previous vans (Swift and Bailey). We have two young boys and it has withstood their best efforts!!!.
The new Lunar vans look better than ever and definately worth considering.
Our Stellar is exactly the same spec as the Lexons.
We retired earlier this year, moved to North Devon and downsized house. We then needed a smaller van as drive not as big as previous house.
Looked at all the two berths from all manufacturers and we found the Stellar with its unique layout to be the roomiest of all.
The build quality is excellent and I for one cannot see where the weight savings are made. The internal lockers etc all have hardwood frames and I am given to believe that Lunar use a lot of lightweight hardwoods as opposed to softwoods used by a lot of the manufacturers, hence the excellent durability of the internals.
I have a Lexon and the pipes for heating ie blown air travel almost their full length outside the van. So the colder the weather the more heat you need and the less you get through this.
We have considered buying a new stellar ourselves, the only bit that is putting us off somewhat is the small toilet compartment with the tip up type basin. We once owned a Monza many years ago with this style and situation of toilet, and the external door was unusable whilst anyone was in the loo, as the space for your feet whilst 'sitting' was the same space as the door well, and yes we did have a couple of embarasing times when we forgot to lock the outer door and someone opened it from the outside mid-flow!

Julia I can assure you that while using the "loo" your feet are in the toilet compartment and with the toilet door closed the van outside door can be used normally.
There is a downside to the small toilet/shower with the tip up basin but we always use full facility sites for the showers so is not a problem for us.
The rest of the van is very very spacious and the "free" floor area is greater than the majority of vans out there of any size!
We are delighted with ours, have recently returned from Tredegar park CC site and are off to Broadway CC site second weekend in Dec\ember.

Alot of the ligtness is in the wood, many use heavy MDF, lunar use a hardwood thats as light as balsa wood but stronger obviously, (our dealer showed us a sample)
Any ply is poplar rather than pine to save a few grams off.. it all adds up it seems.
we have a 93 lunar, one of the reasons for buying it is lunar have always been light weight and for it's age it is still in great nick, just cause it is light does not mean it wont last. x
Its the heating issue that bothers me as we use our van during the winter and if the pipes outside aren't insulated then its going to struggle to get warm inside the 'van.
