Hello, we are begginers to the caravaning world and have  just upgraded to a 4 birth Esprit Panache from a lovelly Avondale Mayfly, but we are having trouble with a couple of things with our new caravan. First, the gas appears to be a remotely filled LPG system with a socket on the side presumably for attaching at a filling station, only the plugs at a filling station are too wide to fit into the socket so we cannot fill up our gas. AND its winter!... Secondly, our fridge does not appear to work very well on gas (but does on electric), and we cannot tell if the fridge is definately on or not when its on gas. (we think its working a little). Does anyone have any suggestions?????? Gas would be nice and we need to keep our beers cold.

Oh and before I go, We are selling our 2 berth 1985 Avondale Mayfly caravan if you are interested....£750 ono its in VGC, has all the usual stuff to start you off with, only selling coz we bought a 4 berth. 01255 508691

Thank you!! David.

the socket on the side will be a bbq hookup.

there must be a bottle lurking around in the van somewhere?

Sounds highly dangerous to me! The van would have originally had space for two bottles in the front locker with a pipe with a regulator attached. What you have now seems very Heath Robinson! Could you attach a photo?
