Have you checked with the people who did the service as well?  They may be able to throw some light onto it.

Finger's crossed you have had a sleepness night over nothing and that all is well this morning...

Our caravan is a model which is a 2009 which could mean that it was available from September 2008 and available until August 2009 subject to availability.  The 2010 models then came out in September and run through to August this year.  However, our van was purchased/delivered July 2009 so although some were in manufacture in 2008 and probably all appliances could well be dated 2008 ready to fit, its still a 2009 & the service wasn't due until July 2010.

Does your friend not have the original receipt from purchase as that would clear up exactly when it was bought and when the service was due.  Some over stock of your caravan have been available late into 2009 perhaps & maybe it was bought in November 2009, thus then being due a service in Nov 2010?  As someone else mentioned its the TV being repaired in 2008 which is weird - why would that need repairing if the caravan was not in use unless you have a 2007/2008 model and if the service hasn't taken place between then and now it does sound the like the warranty would be invalidated.  In either case do you know if the service was carried out by an a manufacturer approved service workshop/engineer?

Thanks for all your help. It is all good advice.

Mystery cleared up today.

It is a 2009 model but purchased/first registered new in November 2008. TV was repaired November 2008.

Misleading length of ownership of previous owner threw a spanner in the works !

First owner sold it back to dealer November 2009.
Friend bought it November 2009 when service was done at 1 year.

She has now had it serviced October (within the 6 week qualifying period) and so all the service history is OK to transfer warranty to us.

Friend was extremely fair and understanding (as I would expect but so worried this could have tested us to the limit!).

SO, tomorrow will register with CRIS, transfer the warranty, start the insurance, pay the Tracker fee, pay the site storage.

Pick it up as soon as we can arrange time off work for the trip!!

What a stress! I thought caravanning was supposed to be relaxing???

Probably spend the weekend buying new bed linen, few pots and pans................................

Thanks for all your input. Speedy too none of this waiting a week for response!!!
