Apologies if this has been asked (did a search but can't find an obvious thread) but is there a recommended time to do a service?
After half-term, my van will probably stay in storage until March - should I get the service done now (so that it is ready for winter) or in March, just before our first use of the new season (so that any effects of winter can be sorted)?

Having ours serviced next week, but we do intend to keep on using it during the winter months. You will find that the service engineers get booked up very quickly in the spring, make sure you book one in plenty of time.
as things are you should get it serviced as soon as you can get it in.most are very busy.if you service now it is ready for march next year.possible you may get it cheaper now.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We have generally had ours done on the anniversary of purchase, initially to maintain warranty requirements. If that is not an issue for you I would be inclined to have it done at the start of the season as things can seize up over winter and tyres can deteriorate.

I agree with David. Bailey warranty says within 6 weeks either way of purchase/handover of van. That a real pain for us - it puts it in July.
Ours is booked for the end of November - but that is because of the warranty ie a year old Dec 4th, otherwise we would get it done feb/march BUT make sure you book early!!
Do it in accordance with the warranty otherwise you forfeit that warranty. If you forgot about the warranty could there be anything else you may have forgotten in terms of your obligations under that warranty? Better dig out the paperwork and check your obligations. Could save you money in the long run

You normally can adjust when you servicing falls. Our Adria warranty states that your service intervals must not exceed 12 months . It is in for service now but if I wanted to change it to say Feb, I could have it serviced again in Feb and then every Feb thereaafter. Ok so the first two services will cost a bit with them being so close but at least you can choose when in the year would be convenient
You need to check the small print. The adria will let you do it as early as you want but not a day late, some manufacturers give you a margin either way but that wouldn't allow you to totally change the time of year.
