They are a summer caravan, because the insulation is so poor that they stream with condensation in winter. They as a rule don't leak. They are steady towers, but are rather tall so they do offer some wind resistance. BUT, they are cheap, so you can't have everything.
We had one (sunseeker 2005 model) it was great wish we had kept it! Just to add that we have had 3 caravans, a folding camper and camplet, so can compare!
It was great to tow with our 1.6 C max, we towed it all the way to Dordogne and back on one holiday. We never had condensation and we used it all the year round, Plenty warm enough, we used it for 3 of us, it would be bit small with any more of you, unless kids slept in a pup tent. Its amazing what you can fit in to them, they are like a tardis, we used to leave the bed up and eat in the awning.
I know 2 people who have Freedoms, one of whom uses hers all year round without any problems.
They are very light and tow well with a relatively small car. Because they are made of fibreglass they don't seem to have problems with damp/leaks and last for years...even old ones sell well.
When being used for 2/3 people they are lovely and cosy but I wouldn't want to try living in one with more than this. An awning is really a must to give extra space but for a couple of adults or even 3, they are very comfortable and depending on which model you have, all the necessary facilities are built in.
I wouldn't agree with the earlier post that they are cheap either. Check out the prices at the main dealer in Stafford (only one dealer for the UK). 3/4 berth models are around £8000.
I used to have a Microlite, loved it. Used it all year, no condensation problems and it warmed up very quickly using a fan heater which was built in to the wardrobe.
Only sold it because son suddenly grew too tall for the single bed.
Towed easily behind my Jazz 1.4. Solid as a rock.
They aren't as tall as many other makes, and the Microlite is even shorter because of its raising roof.
Prices at the dealers are rather high, buying privately is a better way to go.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Hi we have a freedom jetstream ,we use it all year round with no condensation problems.Towing is easy.Plenty of room for both of use and a springer spaniel. We use an awning most of time just for extra space.
I notice the private prices are going up too, recon we could of held on to ours and still sold it for more than we brought it for!
I keep hinting to OH to go over to the dealers for a nose, but hes having non of it, lol!
Having had a few different units, I certainly wouldn't kibble about buying another one, they are small on living space, being cheap to tow makes up for it. Ours was great for when we go to France for over night stops, we just got in and went to bed, not like the camplet or tent where you got to mess about putting it up!
