Hi Guys, I have just bagged a seasonal pitch for next year and am a bit unsure what to put down on the awning floor.
It will be hard standing with pebbles, so I was looking at some of that Kampa black tile stuff which interlocks but with my awning being a size 17 it is going to cost me a fortune !!
What do you guys use ?

first off all. I use 2 layers of visqueen just to stop any water or condensation. MAKE sure your gravel is dead flat, nothing worse than having bumps etc under the grounsheet, so make sure you rake it flat,I was lucky to get hold of the old pool cover from the site, i put that down as well, then i have 2 ground sheets, The main thing is to protect your ground sheet from the stones. But most folk on the site just use the visqueen then 2 ground sheets. that will do really,Then a few rugs or carpet down on top.

We are on a seasonal pitch in the New Forest with a gravelly lumpy base - which is pretty much un-rakeable! - so we put down a tarpaulin (which is woven so allows air through) then the Kampa Tiles which cushion the sharp stones and give a lovely springy feel - and then the awning carpet over the top.
This will be 3rd winter (6th season) we've used the kampa tiles - and I have to say... Yes they were damned expensive BUT they were worth every penny IMHO. the extra lift they give to the carpet means that I can step out of the caravan on even really wet days and my socks don't end up like sponges! They spring back to shape and have really protected the awning carpet which by now would have been shredded from the sharp stones etc.
When we had a seasonal pitch , we ( and almost all the other seasonal caravanners, had wooden pallets , free, begged from supermarkets , to make a raised floor , a cheap tarp over them , then cheap household cord carpet over the top .

We have a seasonal pitch on stony gravel and use military thermal tent lining on the floor - cost us £8 from www.anchorsupplies.com to do the whole awning and and annexe for a 6.5 metre caravan. Its thermally insulated, waterproof and soft & spongy to walk on. We then bought a piece of lino for £100 from a local shop and laid it on top. Been down now for nearly 2 years and still totally dry and nice and warm.

Now I was going to get the type of tiles with the holes in in case of heavy rain and it gets in it has somewhere to go, but I can get a solid mat cheaper, (with no holes) what do you recon ? holes or no holes ?
I was going to put the tiles on the pebbles with my awning floor on top, is this the best way ?
