I HAVE AN AVONDALE 2 BERTH,HAVE JUST DRAINED TOILET TANK,CARVER ETC...HAVE PUT MY WASTE HOG IN SOAK IN MILTON FOR A FEW DAYS,....HAVE ALSO FILLED THE AQUA ROLL WITH WATER AND MILTON..? HOW LONG SHOULD I LEAVE LIKE THIS.TILL NEXT SEASON APRIL? OR JUST FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN EMPTY? THANX FOR ANY HELP
I'm no technical expert Mike and Judy, but I definitely wouldn't be leaving Milton in a plastic container for more than a few days. It is a mild bleach, and I'm sure it would affect the plastic. I usually just rinse my aqua roll out and let it air dry with the cap off. Then, before I use it again next season, wash it out and fill with a few inches of a mild milton solution. I use this to clean through the pipes to clean them. Remember to rinse out again with fresh water.
I'm not sure if you can do this if you have a charcoal based 'Crystal' type water filter.
Most importantly read the instructions on the bottle. Milton can be corrosive to some things especially metal and should not be left in for long. Once it is sterilised its done. I only leave mine in for about an hour and then thoroughlt rinse - especially the water heater.
I assume you are putting it away until so next year so why bother now and then let all the bugs breed over winter. I do mine before using it next season.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP,I HAVE CLEANED AND DRAINED WASTE HOGG,AND ALSO THE AQUA ROLL HAVE CLEANED AND DRAINED AND LEFT CAP OFF,I WILL REFRESH THE AQUA ROLL AT START OF NEXT SEASON,I HAVE DRAINED TOILET WATER TANK AND ALSO CARVER.I DO ALL THIS EACH YEAR,BUT ITS NICE TO CHECK THAT AM DOING IT ALL CORRECT AND GET SOME ADVICE.I HAVE ALSO REMOVED BATTERY AND STORED IN GARAGE AND GREASED THE TERMINAL CABLES.I ALSO REMOVE ALL ITEMS FROM INSIDE THE VAN,SUCH AS AQUA ROLL,WASTE HOGG,TV,MICROWAVE AND AWNING.PLUS GROUNDSHEET.THEN PUT MAIN COVER ON VAN FOR THE WINTER,HAVING WASHED THE VAN FIRST.ONCE AGAIN THANX FOR ALL REPLIES..........REGARDS MIKE.
Fill the water system up with vodka to stop any bugs breeding then nex5 summer you will have a really good first trip, even though it won't be one you remember!

I store my Aquaroll with the cap done up tight after Miltoning it. Reason being - the instructions state that the Aquaroll is light-proof which stops the bugs from growing. I have always cleaned mine out with Milton at the end of the season, stored it with the cap done up and then cleaned it out again at the start. Even after the whole of winter, it still smells lovely and Milton-ey when I open it up again!

i do not do it, but agree with you about doing the milton thing before storage and killing any bugs liable to grow that makes sense.

I think some water bugs don't need light to thrive.
We only Milton at the start, and rinse aqua roll daily when using on site to keep it fresh.
Leaving Milton in could cause damage but as it is I think chlorine based I think after a while it will losses its effectiveness and you may have many bugs breading in stagnant water.
By the way do you mean to use capitals in your post as it implies you are shouting?
It annoys me that however much I throw and swish the aquaroll around to empty the last drops out, it always still has a bit in - bad design. I leave it in the garage upside down on a rack with all caps off, then give it a quick clean again before I use it. I've started to use cheap non-thick bleach for all the pipes and rinsing. If you use it very dilute, I don't see the difference to Milton.
I always put a bit of my green toilet stuff in the waste hog when I use it and it stays fresh with no build up or anything.
I had a horrible migraine attack when we were last away - I stood up in the van and suddenly vomited. I had nowhere to run so had to do it in the kitchen sink!! ( luckily it was just bile with no lumps). When I emptied the waste hog, you just would'nt have known, so the chemical is super.

Love it!
Yes!! This is a really good idea because it would have an anti-freeze effect too. Now, where do all the alcis by cheap vodka? Aldi, Lidl or Netto? I'll ask my sister.
