I just rinse out the aquaroll and hog then leave the caps off. Open taps, remove water filter and put loo cassette inside the van rather than in its housing. I also leave the waste point covers off. All the awnings, etc are kept in the van over winter as the garage is now full off MG Midget!. Come the spring I replace the filter, flush out the aquaroll with milton then fill the system and leave for a few hours then put a couple of aquarolls through to flush out.
The water filter is located where the aquaroll plugs into the side of the van. The filter housing contains a couple of filters and a bag of activated charcoal. You can buy a service kit or a whole new filter assembly and it simply unscrews from its housing. I also keep an old filter housing(emptied of filters, etc) to put in when flushing the system thru and then put a complete fresh filter in at the start of the season.
There is a plastic tool that you can buy which sits over the central bar in the top of the filter enabling you to turn the filter quite easily without breaking anything! Also a smear of veg oil on new one before replacing will help on removal. I believe you could also use a pair of pliers very carefully in place of the tool.
