I bought one for one of my old motors when the heater matrix died, they are as much use as a chocolate teapot, mine, despite costing me £50 (I bought a "better" one) and being placed on the dashboard could barely demist a section of screen as big as a 12" record.
IMO, the airflow in the van would negate any heat output they did have, 2nd, Im not sure my 12S can deliver 17A to the 12V electrics.
