It always used to be a rule of thumb that you had 1" of tv screen for every foot in length of the room. Taking this into consideration, most caravans would be ideal with a 19" to a 22" TV.
How many people really have a 42 foot long living room?
I personally wouldn't consider a bigger screen for my living room than a 32" and find the 15" in the caravan is quite sufficient.

Ahh yes a rule of thumb from the days when a 27" B&W was a massive luxury television, closedown was at 11pm and every program was riveting.
------------- Caravanning is a way of getting a cheap holiday out of an expensive hobby
Check out the screen resolution,Remember the more pixels crammed into a smaller screen will give you a sharper picture..An array of 1024×768 on a 16:9 display at 15" will give a sharper picture than an array of 1024x768 on 19" screen. I've got a 19" Samsung HD screen that gives a blinding picture on my HD box it knocks spots off it's older 32" brother at home.
