Just go to a concert and feel the energy. You haven't lived till you've been there.

With eight Christmas Concerts/performances to conduct, a Carol Service, other church services, carol singing, all the practices for two choirs and a small band, etc. Then there's the Christmas shopping, school concerts to go to etc. etc.... I'm meant to be retired. By the time it comes to Christmas Day, energy will be a thing of the past!! Folk on here often say go for winter caravanning - chance would be a fine thing! And to top it all - the only musical energy I get from listening to the performance of others during December is confined to the likes of Wagner and X Factor! Visiting this site at this time of the year, helps me maintain some level of proportion and hope for when 'it's all over for another year'.
........ to dream of those long summer days in Provence, with a caravan on a site, sitting in the shade with a cool beer or glass of wine, or both, and watching other people walking around so slowly with that 'It's so hot that my brain is frying' look on their face. The only worry then changes to: did I take out the correct travel insurance, will the pound hold up against the Euro, did I buy the portable drinks fridge which keeps my beer as cool as possible, am I going to be able to spend those Travel and Camping Cheques I bought with the good ferry deal, and worst of all..... will the site insist on me wearing those aweful speedos in the swimming pool, that fit where they touch and that my wife insisted on buying so that I could 'have a good time like the rest of the family'.
Now I'm waiting for the 'phone call' from the BBC inviting me to be on the next series of 'Grumpy Old Men'
