lobey dosser posted the mixture for travellers paint as this was what they used to paint their vans, from memory it was gloss paint mixed with petrol but cant remember the mix
If you're a member of the CC there's a member only technical help sheet on this subject. They agree with Tentz or suggest ordinary external domestic paint.
We painted Holi with Dulux gloss paint from B&Q, thinned down with petrol so that it would go through the spary gun. Took 2 days to prime and then paint her and she looks lovely!
Our first caravan (in 1985) was a 1960 Sprite Alpine and we painted it with a good quality exterior gloss. It took two coats to get it from pale green to white and we were so proud of it! It had the original pull down double bed at the back and was very heavy because it was all real wood. No sign of any damp and everything worked!

were there a lot of streak /brush marks when painting by brush we havent got a sprayer and was thinik of using a roller as we only wnat to do the poogreen/brown colour at the bottome of the van

use a smooth roller as used for gloss paint.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
thats what we were thinking i did my kitchen cupboards with a gloss roller a few years ago and allthough it left a slightstipple texture ther were no brush marks but that was egg shell so may smooth out completly with gloss

The correct paint for the exterior would be machine enamel as someone has said, this can be pruchased from any trade paint centre thinned with a small amount of white spirit NOT petrol.Cant understand why anyone would want to use petrol especially when spraying!
If you thin it to the right consistency it will flow out naturally and brushmarks will disappear, also give it two coats rather than trying to make it cover in one.
If you must use a roller then use the foam types and roll across the surface of the wet paint really lghtly which will help to lay it off.
