Our brand new Spectrum came away from the dealer's with a faulty alarm, which continued to be faulty even after we'd turned round and took it back to them the same day, They gave it a coat of looking at and pronounced it "now working", only when we got back to the site with it it was no longer working!. It was a Sargent alarm, and after contacting Sargent - whose technical man - Dan his name was - who had more sense in his little finger than the Dealer just off the M5 in Somerset had in their workshop, he got us to do various tests on the system whilst he was on the end of the phone. It turned out that the key fobs we were given by the Dealer were somwhat much older than the alarm system in the van - about 18 months older - and their batteries were almost dead. Wonder how that happened....
Dan to his credut sent us not only new fobs, but a new battery unit and sensor unit and full instructions of how to change them. There was even a postage paid box for us to send the replaced units back to them.
