HI, right , after much searching and deliberation, we have decided on alunar quasar 616 , its got 3 fixed bunks , seperate shower and its twin axle . The prolem now is ,, i cant find one for sale and i think the last of these were made in 2007 ,, i can get the lunar quasar 546 which is the same layout but single axle, the problem here is these are a new model and as such are expensive and i cant find a used one,,, so although im one step closer to my perfect van , i still dont have one if anyone knows of one of the above vans , used please shout up thanks Nige
Hi, I do not wish to be contradictory but ave you viewed one with 3 bunks. Only in my opinion if you dont need 3 bunks they are a bit cramped if you are only needing 2. We have a sprite major 6 with end fixed bunks and a dinette. Having looked at some with three we found these bunks much longer and more roomy (although no fixed bunk is ever huge) we make up the bed each night for us or if we cant be bothered the two seats make huge singles. You can make the bed early and sit at the dinette as well. I would also be tempted to look at some of the 5 births that have a seating area at the end and just leave the bunks up. Some of the double axle ones have good sized bunks.
------------- Oh am loving the tin tent after campaining against it..........I was wrong.
Ah that good then. No we have a shower/toilet but have a basin not a fold down one. I spoke to lots of people and no one seems to use their sep shower (obviously this depends on the sites you choose etc). I went for more living space less bathroom space. The thought of fetching water just to go empty it again did nor appeal!! Ours also has a hatch at the back though that you can put bikes in without having to drag them through the van. they sit at the back nicely in and out the side door. Another pluss point for me. If you have small children the three bunks are prob a good plan as the bottom and middle wont be bad for falling out of, Our top bunk say no under 6's. our girls are 6 and 8.
Happy shopping

hi again guys.. well after thinking id chosen the right van for us,, lunar quasar ,, we realised we hadnt after reading so many horror stories of them leaking and damp etc,, so we,re still looking for a van ive got an ad in the wanted section and checking sales ads daily ,but still no joy ,ill post up when i get somewhere.. i need one soon as i have just bought a new canoe and want to get off somewhere and use it
Hi we have a Hobby 690 we have a double fix bed at the front and we have replaced the dinette with fixed bunks and it works great. No more making up beds at night. They are fantastic quality Caravans as well. Good luck
We have a Lunar Venus 620/6 twin axle, it weights 1480 loaded, it has a fixed double, and a side dinnette which turns into bunk, with massive front seats that makes a kingsize bed if needed, we got ours to take grand kids away with us. And they are a lot cheaper than other twin axle.
Bailey Orion 530-6 has fixed double at the rear of the van and the vignette makes bunks. Then living room at front could be made into another double or left as living dining. I know it's not fixed bunks, but once they're made you can leave them as so throughout Your trip

As the OP posted over 8.5 years ago, I reckon they've maybe found one by now...
