I have the above electric flush toilet.
Now I haven't checked it yet but quite a few people are having problems because of freezing, they like me have drained via the drain off tube inside and thought that was it.
I have read reports of the pump freezing and cracking thus leaking.
Now regarding antifreeze, can I drain off and put some neat concentrated car screen wash in and pump a bit through ?
Surely if it can sit in my car bottle it can sit in the toilet pipes ?
On another forum a guy has had the same problem and his dealer has ordered a complete new toilet as the design has changed to solve this problem, does anyone know anything about this also ?
Regards,
Chris...............

email i got from thetford when i asked the same question on anti freeze,as folllows

Thank you for your e-mail.

Any antifreeze used should be non acidic and non corrosive. Generally any non toxic anti freeze that is mono propylene glycol based should be ok. If using anti freeze please adhere to the manufacturers instructions at all times.

Please refer to your Thetford Users Manual with regards to using the toilet in the winter. Please be aware that Thetford accept no responsibility for damage caused by any anti freeze products.

Kind regards,

Thetford Customer Care.

I feel they have missed a marketing opportunity there !

I think they should have designed it properly in the first place !
Typical of a caravan manufacturers reply !!!

Hi Chris,

There are many different types of anti-freeze but some of the early ones are quite corrosive hence the instruction to use mono propylene glycol based ones. I wouldn't use anything I wasn't absolutly sure of, it could prove expensive in the long run.

Dave
