Having just ordered our new caravan we now need to source an awning to go with it. We have seen an Isabella Opus 300 for a good price. Or a Dorema Supreme XL 270 for a few hundred less.

Are Isabella worth the extra cost? Also, we mostly stay on the 2 club's sites and prefer a hardstanding. Would they be wide enough for a caravan and 3m awning? Finally, the Dorema has the ten cate walls which are meant to be easy to wipe down. Does anyone have one of these and is the wall material as good as they say?

We've got a Quest Palace Elite which is identical to the Isabella Forum and has front panels which can be set to standard depth, L-shaped or 3m depth.

We usually choose grass pitches which easily accomodate deeper awnings but a lot of sites are very rigid with the hardstanding measurements and wouldnt be big enough for a deeper awning, its a case of checking with each site, you could always buy a cheap 2nd hand standard depth awning for any sites with smaller pitches.

It's worth looking at 2nd hand for your big awning too, we paid £200 for ours which was3 months old, used once and cost the guy £1200 new.

we use a dorema special which is 3.5 meters wide and it fits all pitches be it slightly over onto the grass by about 6 inch.it does mean the van must be in line with the rear of the pitch at all times.we only book hard standing pitches.no complaints from the wardens as yet.
