We have a problem with our jocket wheel ...it is the inflatable for a motor mover....any ideas how to inflate the tyre we can not seem to manage to get the wheel off as it can not be inflated when attached.
We went to a pneumatic jockey wheel. I replaced one cotter-pin with an 'R' circlip. The main reason for this was for removal of the wheel to obtain maximum ground clearance whilst towing. But I also carry a spare jockey wheel. After a couple of weeks on site, any loss of pressure due to a slow puncture would not be noticeable whilst the van is supported by the corner steadies. Having a spare wheel prevents any immediate problems that might arise from being unable to move off site.

Hi
yes managed to get teh pin out and the wheel off but my inflater to pump the tyre wont fit
have to buy a new inflater or a new jockey wheel, I will carry a spare from now on thanks Bertie
thanks for responce
My 12-volt inflator is a Ring RAC200. This has a straight, screw-on adaptor so is easy to attach to the jockeywheel. If you have to get a new inflator (electric or manual) look for one as described, not the toggle-lever type.
hi dan use a cycle pump most mountain bikes use car type vaves ,by the time you.ve sorted your electric out your bike pump would be back in its drawer ,job done
------------- if it aint broke ...keep fixing it until it is !
I have just had a motor mover fitted to my FC. Does this mean I have to now have a pneumatic jockey wheel fitted or can I continue with just the hard plastic one?

tried that with our mover and have now removed it.the reason is it kept on getting stuck under the A frame after hitching up.now back to solid rubber type.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
we had to have apneumatic wheel fitted as the hard one would not move the van properly over the gravel in the storage it churned up all the ground so the pneumatic wheel works great but as I have said problems in other ways carn't win
We used to have a similar FC with a motor mover. I think you have little problem with the standard jockey wheel, but if the ground is very soft, put a heavy item that normally resides in the boot on the back of the FC after it is folded and this will nicely reduce the nose weight for the jockey wheel, or simply lean on the back whilst the mover is going.
