Found my old thread and had a re-read. How time flies. 5 Year ago.
Well since then I found "The Sleeper" Teardrop, bought one, enjoyed it, then bought the comany, made a few, then sold the company due to the spine deteriorating over time.
Still got my (now) Ruby Red Trike and matching Sleeper.
Just thought I'd correct some of the issues I found over the past few years.
Trikes are very limited in their towing weight, so caravans are out of the picture. Solo bikes in the UK have special towing rules which virtually takes out anything other than a small trailer. There is a folding camping trailer which is within the law for solo bikes.
What we are still looking for in order to start a full restoration project is a Trident Companion, which is a very small Trailer/Camper/mini caravan. Made in the 80's, the moulds have been destroyed (as I found the original manufacturer who verified this).
Anyone wanting to know more about Teardrops can drop in on www.TCGB.org which is a UK Forum set up to promote Teardrops and Micro Units.
So keep your eyes open for anything that looks like a miniature caravan, and bares the name Trident (Companion)

It's a German Import, WK Devil's Trike. About 1996/7
Started off as a 1300cc VW Beetle engine. Then my good Lady bought me a VW Beetle 1641cc Race Tuned engine for my birthday (bless her little cotton socks).
With the old marble paintwork
It's been a plain copper colour (original), then a custom marble colour which was damaged due to a mudguard bracket failure. The it went all Matt Black, but never turned a wheel as I was in and out of hospital with spine treatment.
Then she said she wouldn't ride it all black and as I was about to sell the Sleeper company, I had the final Sleeper made in Ruby Red (RAL 3003) and the Trike was sprayed to match.

The Trike in it's original form (not that you can see) and my original Sleeper which prompted me to take it a step further and buy the company.
East Leeds Lions Easter Rally from a few years ago.
The snow caught everyone out ! !

and if anybody out there wants their own teardrop trailer/microcaravan. If you can put up some shelves or build Ikea flat packs, build your own. I did.....
Note price is not negotiable - thats what its cost me in wood, varnish and screws etc. If it doesn't go soon - it'll be Ebay fodder as I'm moving house soon. When completed, these babies sell on Ebay for £1000+
Looks similar to the red 'un but bigger and made of wood! - and its not finished.....
Not sure if you are still interested, but we have a Trident Companion Micro Caravan which we'd be willing to part with. Used briefly last summer during self-build house project, but now surplus to our needs. Pretty good condition, and with most of its original kit. North-west Scotland. Any good to you? Let me know by email, or phone 07738 233826 - Best wishes, Brian.
