If you're going into Glasgow then there are two Dunelm Mill stores in the area - one at Livingstone Street, Clydebank (0141 952 5522) and one at Birkenshaw Trading Estate, Rannoch Road, Uddingston (01698 812503). Obviously I don't know how convenient these would be for you to get to but would be well worth having a look - and they have all sorts of household items and furnishings, not just fabrics. I love going to our local one just for a look round even if I don't want to buy anything.

Hi Tigermouse, Thanks For That will try there, took trip to Glasgow Barraland to look for the curtain stalls and shops, Got one hellava shock, out of 60/70 stalls and shops that sold the material, had all gone, sept for 3, and none of them did velvet or velour, new would be hard to get good match of colour as they change shades every season, will try Dunelm Mill Birkenshaw,as only 6ml from home Glasgow 17ml, you would not think it was so difficult to get a good quality material, even anything simmilar, if no luck there, will buy 2pair of ready made curtins the nearest shade i can find, and get them cut and altered, begining to think this contry of ours is going to hell in a hand cart.keep you all posted.

the trouble is less and less people can sew now so they dont buy fabrics everythings ready made. even at scholl you used to be taught basic sewing with a machine. now they dont so most kids cant even sew a button on. with nobody making or repairing things theses stall and shops are going out of busness its a sad state of affars hope you fined a good match. im on the fabric hunt tomorrow for curtin fabric for our van but i am after bright cerice pink or black and white flock somthing odd anyway lol

Hi All, Thats very true now fallenangel,Thanks Tigermouse, whent to Denelm mill to-day,found exatct colour match for the curtains, though not Velour/Velvet,they were ready made lined curtains and they were called Manhatton, they have small circle same colour woven into the plain fabric, and not too stand outish, they were 90x90, and £35 a pair, they only come in ready made form, forgot to ask if that was the width of one half of curtain, or was it the total width, need to phone them and ask, suspect it is total width though, that would make them 45x45 each curtian, and i need 6mtr to get a set made, so in all probability would need 3 pairs,so at moment all in all it will still cost around £120.Going to have a look at a place called Remnant kings Warehouse in Glasgow, hope they have that material (manhatton) by the meter, who would have thought it was so hard to get a van fitted with new curtains.

can you not make all the curtains out of 2 packs ? you would still need curtain tape for one pair
they will be 45 x 90 90" is ever so long how long do you need the curtains to be ?
Dunelm Mill ready made curtains are sold in pairs and the size given refers to each individual curtain. This is the standard way of selling curtains. So if you buy a pair of curtains measuring 117cm x 137cm (46” x 54") you are buying two curtains and each one will measure width 117cm x length 137cm (width 46” x length 54") to create the perfect drape at your window.
Hi bobsbabes, (can you not make all the curtains out of 2 packs ? you would still need curtain tape for one pair they will be 45 x 90 90" is ever so long how long do you need the curtains to be ? ) Laid curtains on floor, placed along side each other, as if on the roll, laid them out length ways, and across to a width of 45",curtains about 42" with the allowance for the seam width, for all 8 curtains, it came to 6 meters long at 45" wide, so using that guide, if single curtain was 45x45inch then would need 3 pair with a lot of wastage, if 90inch, then one pair would do the job.

Hi, Thats good news, looks like I will buy a pair, and get them altered to fit van,and with them being lined dont need to buy any linning, average price of a meter £10, looked on ebey and fond cheaper, but read the discriptions and most of the material on the roll, were remnants and not the complete un cut length, that made up the total length. When new ones made up will try and post pics later. Thanks for all the help and the idea's.
