Anyone heard what baileys new budget range 'orion' will be like?
I wander if it will just be a cheaper version of olympus, a bit like ranger and gt60.
interesting though, roll on the nec show.
The New Compact Bailey Orion Caravan Broaden your horizons with the Bailey Orion Caravan, new for 2011. Compact, affordable, and featuring the Alu-Tech construction system
Hi, Not heard, enjoy the show, I will not be going to the show in Glasgow this year, As last year there was more space for statics and holiday homes/saunas, than there was for vans /motorhomes /camping exhibitors, they were all cramped into small areas, making it hard to see all the new vans, as every one bumped into each other, food, drink vile, parking prices, even the disabled were charged for parking, noticed the disabled parking bays where 100yds from entrance doors, and every thing a rip off, Dick Turpin had more scruples.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
its just gonna be a base model van though innit so you would expect to lose alot of kit.whether that equates to 7 -10 grand , too early to say as i dont think the prices are out yet ?
sure it`ll be lighter so quality of some trim areas may suffer...

If the quality suffers, the sales will suffer.
People will be more wary, especially after the problems some Pegasus 1 owners had to put up with.
Pegasus 2 has less kit than Pegasus 1 and is cheaper, Orion is to replace the Rangers so will be lower spec and price.Going over to all alu-tech construction will save Bailey production costs!

Bound to be a market for it, cheap, cheerful and lighter. Bailey ain't daft, this will be an entry level van with more bells and whistles than rivals I would guess. It will be interesting to see what layouts they come up with.
Rangers seem to do well enough so I don't see why this will not be the same, surely they learned from Peg 1 too?
I reckon it will be a thinner van like the Olympus. Perhaps it will have no microwave or stereo system and downgraded furnishings. Surely the 'shell quailty' will emain the same as the other models.
Having seen how the "shell" is made in the factory and the investment in the equipment to make it, it will be the same as the other ranges to maximize economies of scale.
Peg 1 is a very good van, we have had very few problems with ours. They are very warm. We have the updated frontal armour now so hopefully no more dents!
If Unicorn had been avaialble we would probably have found thge extra cash!
SWMBO likes the Barcelona oh no!!!! She knows our Sorento will pull it!

Very nice - like the way they've used the space in the rear bunk area in 450-5. The one thing thats prevents us from buying a family bailey on a single axle has been the rubbish bathrooms
