Love some of the comments  but I still want to know why you have to fill the bowl!

Like I said, we open the blade before use, so everything goes directly into the cassette. Flushing is then only to rinse the bowl.

We use our own toilet more or less all the time. With 2 of us we find we need to empty every 36 hours.

I agree with Jennifernn.  Bog standard procedure, if you ask me.
