we have got a seasonal pitch for this year. I know lots of others here have them too.
I fancy having a proper double bed in the annexe but wouldnt be able to have the inner tent up .

We will be be on concrete base , then building a raised wooden floor with some sort of carpet or lino on top.
.
Have any of you used a normal bed and mattress in your awnings? Or sofa beds ?

I got the idea because I remember seeing people with 3 piece suites in their seasonal awnings years ago.

sorry cant tell you about a rael bed in the awning, its about the only thing i havent had in mine, had a 3 piece suite in mine for about 4 years, that was years ago though, it got ruined by torrential rain, when awning got blown away in a storm one late night., ive had twin tubs driers and freezers in it also. now have a low shed behind the van and it houses a drier and freezer.

I have a double height Intex Queen size airbed in my awning and it is fantastic. We have decking on hard standing and then rubberbacked carpet (although now I think I would try carpet tiles). The bed was up from early April until early October and only once needed a little extra air added, (hubby and I have a combined weight of over 30 stones). We then have a fleece lined mattress cover (this year we're also trying electric under blankets), stretch jersey fitted sheet with a 13.5 tog duvet on top, cosy it certainly is. We also have a calor gas heater and t.v so spend most of our time in our home from home.

Sounds like it could be okay then . I was worried it about it getting damp. I was thinking of a metal frame bed or sofa bed to allow more air circulation .

I suppose what you have on the floor determines that.  We have pallets that are 4" off the floor, then an awning carpet and some rubber backed mats (about 5ft x 4ft) over that.  Air circulates under the pallets and nice and snug in the awning under foot.
