Not an advert!, but just been for a trip to the deep south, it was COLD!, so needed gas refills, found a calor depot at Shoreham who would exchange the small calor propane 3.6kg??, for a 6kg lite one for the (full retail) cost of the gas only.(£27.50) .. bargain I thought!
Officially Calor will only allow a size swap within 2 bands. One of these bands is the 6Kg propane and 7 Kg butane with all other sizes being in the other band. I have been refused the option of swapping a 13 Kg for a 6 Kg by a caravan dealer but have been able to swap it at a builders merchant.
Interesting I notice I could exchange 6KG propane for 6KG calor lite free of charge for canister. Do you know if they take exactly the same fittings?
Also has anyone tried BP lite, is this a better option than Calor lite. It looks better see through bottle etc, but I notice it needs different but easier fittings and I'm unsure how easy it is to get refills.

The Calorlite has the same fitting as the standard 6kg bottle you have. I've found varying attitudes to swapping standard to lite bottles near me, but there are dealers who'll do it. Calor did impose a restriction a few years ago on dealers to adhere to their policy, but this seems generally relaxed.
When I looked into BP Lite, it was better value but not so readily available. Homebase and some garages supply it, but not as widely available as the Calor.
