Can anyone help? Having problems fitting spare wheel carrier on to Swift Charisma 650 (twin axle). The fitting instructions for the bracket were not very detailed and do not appear to line up on the chassis. One lines up, other does not. Chassis does not want to be drilled (or should not be). This has all arisen due to mover being fitted.

Have checked the internet and it does not seem to help either.

Any help/suggestions by anyone appreciated.

Thanks

Am I to understand this correctly? You don't say that carrier was used before having mover fitted, but the post does suggest this to be the case. If it is related to mover being fitted, perhaps consult the fitter to discuss if mover position now likely to be restricting carrier fitting.
As for drilling chassis, do NOT do this as it will weaken the integrity of the galvanised chassis.

I have to agree with G7ACU's comments respectively and the issue should be solely with the company that fitted the motor mover. The motor mover is there to make life easier but if it creates another individual problem then nothing has been gained by having it installed really. Also agreed is under any circumstances do not drill the chassis as for reasons mentioned by G7ACU as two wrongs don't make a right.

I removed my spare wheel carrier as it is not practical to use it safely at the side of the road in case of a puncture. I find it better to carry the spare wheel and jack in my vehicle where it is easy to get to. The Alko carrier is also susceptible to getting jammed in place with seized bolts and sliders - see a few reports on here where people have had problems with them. My main consideration would be safe access to suitable jacking points.

If you look here http://www.powrwheel.com/Shop-Powrtouch.asp powrtouch do some form of adapter kit for if you fit a mover to a twin axle - seems that it is a known issue.

It sounds like the OP has the Powertouch kit, but cannot figure out how to fit it.

ALKO Spare Wheel Carrier Moving System (WEB/AWC)

When the installation of the Powrtouch is required to be behind the caravan wheels or fitting the All Wheel Drive Powrtouch (Model 6) the under slung ALKO spare carrier will interfere with the Powrtouch Mover. We can supply and fit a Powrwheel Limited designed kit that allows the ALKO spare wheel carrier to be re-sited. This requires no drilling of the ALKO Chassis. The kit can be also be fitted to BPW chassis but the BPW spare wheel carrier will have to be replaced with and ALKO carrier.
