Hi there,

Looking at buying a second-hand compass and I was wondering if anyone knows where the id plate is on them. I need to know what the weight of it is as the current owner isn't sure.

It depends on the year of manufacture but the identification plate is normally below the door and should inform of the unladen weight and maximum laden mass. If the van is around the 1980's it could possibly be on the 'A' frame.

my book says a plate by the door second set of digits give the year model.

On my Explorer caravan it is inside the drawer after falling off on my drive, as the adhesive they glue it on with is no good. This may be the case with the van you looked at.
