Just bought a caravan with a Powrtouch mover fitted, worked fine last week, but today when we went back to the caravan it no longer works (after a service). The red and green lights are on the conrol box but when I press the two buttons on the handset I get nothing i.e. no lights. I have charged the leisure battery but this has made no difference.
I don't have the cable to link the hanset to the controller so can't test that way. It is the E series model with the white handset
reset isolation switch by turning off and remove the key for at least 15 seconds and then turn on again.the green light on the electronics box should be illuminated.
unit fails to operate................
check battery voltage of the handset is correct.an indication of this is given by a slow green flashing light on the hand set.and this can also be checked by the use of the emegency cable.NB. ALWAYS REMOVE HAND SET BATTERY WHEN USING THE CABLE.
DO.
caravan battery is to low, check electronis box g/green light flashing/charge battery
DO.
caravan battery is below 10 volts

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Tried a coulple of new ones with no luck. I'll give them a call on Monday, just thought there may be half a chance of someone knowing a way to rest or anther way?
Leisure battery kicking out 12.4V, green light (and red) on control box is solid, no flashing
just a thought try mover rollers when not connected to the wheels to see if the rollers are going round,if yes then it is failing under load and your main battery is too low.

not get any movement with rollers on or off. It as though the handset and control box and not talking to eachother. I do not get the normal green light when you press the two remote buttons together.
Hi Dazbat, I too have had problems with motor movers that involved the caravan having to go to a service centre to be repaired and they will not look at any unit unless the caravan battery was full charged the night before.
9 times out of 10 it will be the Control Box that is gubbed but getting everything you can think of to A1 condition before you (or anyone else) start looking for the fault is the best policy.
Don't suppose its a problem with the control box aerial which Powertouch man at a show told me should be protruding through the van floor below the postion of the control box. Mine is stapled to the floor underneath but could be hanging down loose.
------------- Mother Nature always wins in the end.
Tried taking the controller into the caravan and pressed the buttons right next to the box, still nothing. , I know what you mean about the aerial, it's not the longest and only just gets outside the caravan.
Pinning my hopes and a fully charged battery in morning, if not its Powrtouch on Monday.
first make sure the rollers are disconnected from the tyres.remove 4 screws an the black cover and locate the setting button .press this setting button the red LED light will start flashing then switch on the hand set by simultaneously pressing and holding down the two red buttons (marked on) .a green light will appear on the handset then press any one of the directional movement buttons on the handset ( this green light will flash during transmission ) the red LED on the base unit will stop flashing and the unit will start working.your handset and electronics system are now configured.replace the black cover and screws.rest shown bottom left....

Thanks for the info, the battery is now showing 12.8V and armed with your re-set info I'll give it a go this morning.
If you have the remote control, does the green light come on everyime you press the on butons whether is connected to the control box or not? My problem seems to be that my green light on the remote control never comes on when pressing any of the buttons. If the green light needs to come on to pair it up I will have a problem.
Any one live local to Barnsley and have the cable (white handset) that connects the remote control and the control box, could do with testing if this works?
They are a great piece of kit, this one looks very old and I'm sure you will not have an issue.
Tried with fully charged battery and even the reset procedure, but, no luck, no lights from the remote when pressing the two 'on' buttons.
I will try ringing Powrtouch on Monday and just hope its the remote (pick one up for £50). If any one is local to Barnsley and has a cord/handset I could test that would be great.
