makes me wonder too. The remote was in the caravan, wonder if something happened to the remote during the service. I have taken the remote apart and there is no sign of a cracked crt board or buring out.

I have found a friend who has the same controller, they are bringing the remote and the cord this afternoon. Should at least be able to rule out/in the remote by close of play today !

Testing complete

1) With the cord attached my remotes green lights comes on but still no movement of the rollers

2) Plugged in a different controller (friends), green lights comes on but still no movement of the rollers

Now I'm confused, I was convinced my remote was to blame. I'll phone them tomorrow.

If you have the remote control, does the green light come on every time you press the on buttons whether is connected to the control box or not? My problem seems to be that my green light on the remote control never comes on when pressing any of the buttons. If the green light needs to come on to pair it up I will have a problem.

yes if you press both buttons the green light should come on the handset, when mine stopped working they posted a new one to the keswick site overnight.i will check mine for sure.

yes green light on and stays on for 30 seconds.that's without any other components switched on.DONT forget to remove battery in the handset when hooked up with the cord.

I phoned about ours and they asked us to send it in to be tested as ours is going through batteries.  The motor mover has a five year guarentee, I would have thought to include the remote, on ebay they are £80!!

Spoke with the powrtouch engineer, very helpful. Everything points to a faulty remote control, got to post it back to them for testing.

Guarantee not valid as there has been a change in owner, they tell me it should not cost any more than £40 ish.

Sent the remote back yesterday, go a call today to say they have checked the remote and the membrane with the switches has gone. £50 for the repair, back in the post tonight ..... great customer service. Also asked for the lead (did not have it when I bought the van), £15 but at least I'll have it just in case the battery goes flat or there is interferance on site.

Fingers crossed this will sort ot out, just need some replacement rollers and it will be as good as new !

Our remote came back as repaired, still no joy, so hubby was asked to remove the 'black box' and send it off.  Upshot is that the curcuit board was knackered, so they have sent us a brand new, now blue box and remote.  Hubby will fit next time we are out.  Luckily it was under guarentee so no charge.

I had exactly the same problem. Complete replacement by powrtouch. Service excellent but it happened in the middle of a field so I had to leave it overnight before I had the brainwave of plugging in the wire.

Mover a year old.....

If you have no light on your handset then that must be where the fault is. Do you have an iPod? the jack to jack lead that connects an iPod to the input on the front of a car radio will do the job of connecting the handset to the control box.
