Second the use of disposable rubber gloves, take a look at the palm of your hand after using the water hose you have held to clean out your cassette with, solid in colour yuk LOL
Thanks to all. I did empty it whilst away. I do have problems with germs I am afraid so I was dreading it. Not because of our "stuff" but touching the tap and hose particularly as the hose has been down other people's toilet!!
My friend was with me and not at all phased by anything like this so she did the first one so that I would know what to do after she had gone home. Ihad my green wellies on and disposable rubber gloves much to her amusement and also another chap watching! we had a laugh and I commented to the chap that was my first military operation over with! He said wait till you go on rallies and have to dig a hole or just pour down a grid. Yikes I will have two pairs of gloves on and wellies up to my thighs in that case.......................
Funny how some people can be pretty blase about the whole thing (my friend was) but I hate the whole thing and wash my hands until sore after I have done it despite the gloves!!
I know I need help being over cautious can be worse than being blase but I will get used to it all I guess. At least there was a tap with a hose on the end not like some that you have mentioned above.
First "virgin" caravan experience alone for a night and a day and had to pack it all up to go back into storage too ............ feeling pretty chuffed with myself really despite the toilet trauma
Well done you Flip!!! While away at the weekend, I remarked to OH how I must do this for when me and the kids are on our own, but followed that up with - so I'll do that next time!!!
