We tried our blow air heating for the first time this weekend but found that the bathroom outlet did not get very warm unless the other outlets were closed does this sound right ? We ran it on the electric would using the gas instead  make any difference? Thanks for your help.

Don't know what caravan you have?
We have Bailey Indiana and found the heating on electric only was pretty rubbish. The manual says it is only a sort of back up. thinks just takes the chill off the room but out of vents is virtually no heat.
Best we have found is having the gas on 6-7 and the air fan 3-4 this is what the manual recommends for optimum heat.

It takes such a long time for the air to get around the length of the pipes, it is usually cold by the time it gets out! We have found it is more efficient to close all the vents and leave the bathroom one open if we want to dry towels in there. Restricting some of the vents seems to make the open ones more effective in our experience. If we have them all open they are next to useless!
But that's just our van - yours may be different?

I think you will find that there is a lever at the back of the heater which you can adjust in order to proportion the amount of heat to front/back. You may have to remove a small panel in a cupboard to get at it - I had to in my Challenger.

The heater pipes in the caravan work very similar to a car's heating such as when you have air blowing from the 4 dashboard vents, if you close off 2 of them you get more power coming out of the 2 remaining vents thus if you close off 3 vents you then get one very powerful vent. Therefore if you close off the caravan vents in the living area you direct more heat and power to the rear one as a result. Hope this comparison with the car explains basically how the system operates. Whether it operates more efficiently on gas I'm not too sure as I'm yet to try mine out in the next few weeks for the first time.

takes a fair while to get warm.use both heats electric and gas at the same time until you have the correct temperature required.our bathroom gets very warm.

If it's a Truma heater, turn down the heat setting and give it a couple of hours during the cold months to heat up to 19 degrees if you want to use just the electricity.

However, as Michael says, for faster results, (about half the time) use the combined.

our bathroom vent runs under the floor for about 3 feet to avoid the door which doesn't help the service guy said it's insulated but it can't help.
