as many know I dont do TV DVD etc when away as its a chance to free the mind of the rubbish we sit infront of each night at home and cant after an hour or two remember the story fully. Ha Ha. but
do have Digi radio and tune it to BBC 7 give it a try! quite great esp if you can catch Dads Army. one foot in the grave. Navy lark. Hancocks half hour. goons. around the horn and more also the plays/mistery stories and classic novels are a real treat to get the mind working again. so many are unaware that its all there. many of the top TV shows and comedy started out on radio. I was unaware untill I stumbled on the channel. alas they are only available on BBC7
even my truculant 15yr and 13yr old with nothing else to occupy or divert their small grey calls settled down and each asked for their own Digi radios after the first time.
also Dominos and play the children for money. (you will have to give them it first but they love it. and games end and they have extra.) and wooden puzzles great to watch the other half struggle with and then when they are out do it to show off.
We take a TV with built in digi box and dvd like someone said above it saves space, also take our DAB radio.. Got some board games, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble and Monopoly for evenings in or when nature decides to do one! For those lovely dry days we have a set of French Boules, which always great fun on a field or the beach

We take a telly and the van came with a brilliant cd/radio/dvd player. We also have the usual array of board/card games. Blackberry comes with, it's handy to look up local info and get addresses.
But to be honest the best entertainment is our two dogs they never fail to make us laugh.
We take a 19" TV satellite dish PS3 for games and movies we have a built in radio/cd player but after being up at first light and fishing all day normally none of it gets used much as all the fresh air knocks us out lol.

Watching other people set up particularly satellite dishes always keeps us entertained for hours
last year we crept over after dark and moved a units tripod that held the dish. kept doing it every night and watch him re adjust it in the morning. became quite a highlight of the day for several units who could hear the swearing from him each morning. I tend to think he may have guessed it was us unless someone took over for the rest of his stay when we left. may find out this year if he is back there may even own up ! but then again.
We take 19" TV with built in DVD, take our Sky Plus Box + card so can record anything we need. Have the built in CD + Radio. I take Laptop and this year the Kindle will be an addition. Husband will have crosswords and other puzzle books. Just for wet days and darker nights we are prepared. But do like to keep in touch with BBC 1 News and our Local News when in Europe. Plus items like General Election Results last year, and the Royal Wedding this year coming.
I pack loads of travel games (to save space) and various card games eg UNO, Monopoly Deal (Great game if you can find it), Super 5. Ipod touch, DS lite. My Kindle (huge space saver!) and not forgetting my WINE! (and bottle opener)
