Was checking hoses stocked in Caravan accessories shop and I always thought the high-pressure hoses had to have a date stamped on them, but the ones on the suppliers shelves didn't have a date, just codes (maybe product codes?)
I am not in need of a new hose as mine was fitted new in Sept 2009 - the van was second hand and dealer (Catterick Caravans) policy is to bin old hoses and (force?) you to buy a new hose! I was OK with this actually from a safety point of view even though the van was then still only 3 years old (it was new build in Oct 2006).
The reason I was looking however was to see the price of the "hand" tightening type rather than my present spanner tightening type. With one hose between two gas cylinders and very I must admit very infrequent bottle changing due to the caravan having an electric hob ring and 2KW electric heater on-board, I think the price difference (£10) is too much to warrant change out so am sticking with spanner type for now.
Would still be interested to know the legal aspects of the date arking on hoses if it is required.
