Im about to return to caravanning after a 10 year gap,im going to sell my boat and buy a caravan. What id like to know,is there any 2 berth vans that have single beds that are longer than 6ft?.Im intending to buy a 2 berth van.
Depends if you want to use the beds a s single or a double. Because most doubles go across the caravan they are getting on for 7 foot across. Using them lengthwise you should find they are at least 6 foot long. Might be an idea to look at some of the manufacturers on line brochures so see what the general trend is.
Thanks david for the reply,i have tried a couple of vans and they seem to stop at 6ft,i wedge in there at 6ft 1 inch, looks like we will go with putting up the double at 7ft accross.
or buy a van with a double dinette at each end and just leave one made up as a perminant double bed....
Secondhand the four berths are always more easy to sell on, as they appeal to a wider spectrum of people, having that extra bit of space to manouvere and the capacity to take a guest away sometimes, or have a choice in how you use the layout without being stuck with just the front bed layout. Theres only the two of us most of the time, but we still prefare a four berth van for that extra bit of space and comfort

4 years ago we were faced with a similar problem and eventually found a British Built 2 berth van made just outside London that could give us one 6' 2" single bed and one 6' 6" single bed.
It was called the Sprintaway Lux and we bought one.
Unfortunately the firm only produced 30 vans all in and went out of production last year.

Wildcamping on the Outer Hebrides.
Although these are like hens teeth now, they do come up for sale every so often and you may be lucky.
Looked at changing my caravan for one with large single beds for the lart 2 years ,no luck they al stop at 6ft 1in.
that is unless you go for a Hobby, single beds 6ft 8in .
Not what you would call a 2 berth though, big caravan needs big car, but i know were your coming from im 6ft 5in and i have to make up that double bed if i want to stretch out
Ofcourse you could go down the route that we have now chosen and that is the tried and tested route of the Folding Camper.
Instead of 2 single beds 4 inches apart, we now have two permanently made up double beds, 11' 6" apart and these have interior sprung mattresses. My 6' 4" frame has oodles of room and with a double bed each well we both actually look forward to bed each night especially now that it does not have to be made up but is always there and ready for use.

2 berth caravans tend to be a bit tight on equipment but the FC has all the mod cons of a large caravan but can be towed by a smallish car. We tow ours with a Renault Scenic.
