We bought our Adria Altea 502DK specifically for our 2 teenagers. We bought it nearly 4 years ago when they were 14 and 12, the fixed bunks across the back of the van take a weight of up to 70kgs and are very long! Both bunks have a window, light and storage for all their belongings! A concertina door closes them off. We leave the front dinette made up as our bed and use the side dinette for eating, which is good we eat in the awning or outside and the girls stayed in the caravan to eat!

Now that the eldest doesn't come with us and the younger one rarely, we will be looking to change to our preferred layout of a fixed double bed! Luxury!

Good luck with your search - alot of bunks are not big enough for teenagers but there are some out there that are a good size.

We bought a 6 berth caravan simply because the layout would work for us on a rainy day or a chilly evening (not that we have many of those in France, where we keep our van); we knew the boys wouldn't want to sleep inside the van. We have a side dinette and a rear dinette. We have an extension for our awning (which is great) and also a 3 man Vango tent for the boys, which fits nicely onto our pitch. We looked at several vans with bunks but there was simply no way my eldest would fit (he is 6 ft 3 and still only 15). To be honest, the boys really love their tent - they see it as their space - so my husband and I have the van to ourselves at night. I would love a caravan with a fixed bed...one day...
