Should we use the caravan cover just in winter or can we use in the summer also to keep it clean?

We use ours all year round, the only time we don't use it is when we are going away within a week or so of returning from the last trip.  We get caravan on the drive, I empty the inside, and OH washes the caravan so the cover isn't rubbing on any grit when covered and we put the cover on between us.

We have lots of blossom trees surrounding our drive which would make a mess and we like the fact that any would be thieves wouldn't know what make or model our van is.
