I am also on a seasonal pitch, use long pegs, steel awning poles are better for seasonal, It is worth while buying a awning tensioner, making sure your awning Dosent flap about in the wind and the roof not sagging so it's not making it possible to hold pools of water, make sure you peg the inner awning flaps down, that's the ones that the ground Sheets sits on in the awning. Buy a few more roof awning poles, I had an extra 4 poles, but it is a big awning, I also put 2 extra poles for the side & front to stop wind blowing the awning inwards, use the sponge type pipe lagging on these to stop the poles rubbing on the windows, Make sure the awning skirt on the van and wheel arch is well pegged down, Some folk cut a sheet of ply to fit the arch, seen a few awngs blown outwards, taking off like a
kite, get good storm straps use the springs, don't use these silly orange ratchet yellow, orange straps, they rot in no time. Atfer all this I weather proff the awing twice thoughout the season, this stopping it going green (alge)
