Hi Andrea,
I have the official Coachman handbook for 1992 but the lengths should be exactly the same. 18 feet may not be correct as the handbook covers 3 ranges. The Mirage, Genius and V.I.P. and the figures for the Mirage 500/5 is as follows:
Overall length = 21' 5"
Body length = 16' 5"
Width = 6' 10"
Awning size = 935 cm.
If you are unsure, contact Coachman Caravans on 01482-877405. Their customer services should be able to confirm the size you need and if you request a hanbook for 1990, they should be able to send you one by post for approx. £5 including p&p.
For advice, don't go by the body length when purchasing an awning as some older caravans have what they call a boat roof and the awning rail size is actually smaller due to the dimension being less from the ground to roof side. One with a flat roof is higher from the ground so the awning rail is longer to compensate. Hope this helps.
Regards, Trevor.
