I am looking for ideads on pimping my awning!! I am thinking of drapes on the ceiling to cover the bars - has anyone done this or does anyone have any advice?

I would also like to change the curtains in the awning - i'm on a small budget so any advice would be appreciated!!!!

Looking at re-doing my awning curtains (WHY are they all vile??) worked out would need 7m of 150cm wide material + j rail. Still looking for the material though, once I've got that it only needs overlocking an all sides and the j rail cutting and attaching, would be a very quick job with an overlocker, if you only had a sewing machine you could still them do them relatively quickly.

As for the drapes on the ceiling what about voile panels? you could thread onto the centre pole as they weigh next to nothing.

Do you have an Ikea near you?

They have voile panels - floor length and very cheap - would do the trick.  You could check them out online.

Check out Dunelm Mill for fabric remnants or Abakhan fabrics - they have stores all over and you can pick up material off the roll at very reasonable prices.

Take pics when you are finished so we can see your fine work!!

I agree they are vile. we got a nice navy and white awning with our caravan but the curtains were so vile, my Mum liked them!! She said "oh, don't throw them away, they'll come in handy"!!??? yeh, right.

I made up some cheapo navy gingham ones and they make it look new and clean........even though it's probably not clean most of the time.
