They are all the same size. IMHO they served no useful function except to make the caravan look pretty. When towing all sorts of muck gets thrown up onto the tow bar area including the electrics so having it on while it is stationary makes no real difference.
They certainly are not all the same size but a good big one that covers all is a universal solution. I had a dealer supplied one I quickly dumped as that left the brake and plugs exposed.
Where they do a very good job is keeping UV rays from the sun off the red plastic handles etc. The UV can also damage the plastic of the electrical cable and plugs [or plug nowadays].
So if you keep this sun off for most of the hitches life other than when towing its a plus.
I also like to keep things well looked after, neat, tidy, clean and algae free so covering it from the weather is for me a natural thing to do.
how o i know what size i need i see on newer vans they have a holder on the a fram for the electic plugs but ours just go in were the hand break is so i thought it might help protect the plugs ends when not in use odviusly when your towing there pluged in so dont need protecting

Hi fallenangel, You could just measure the distance from the front of tow hitch to back of the fully applied hand brake, do same for the hand brake hight to bottom of A frame, then with your measurements go to caravan shop and compare, thought the standard size should fit most vans.

Nope agree they are not the same size , our old van had two!!! One we sold with the van and kept the other , just got a new van and it didn't fit, luckily it came with one , I like them, keeps everything neat and tidy, and especially if it sitting on our drive keeps it all dry and clean, I like to keep my belongings well cared for so it makes sense to have one.
Hi, I cant use my hitch cover at the moment, have old imperial security towball insert, and needs the 5 pin key, it has two little spikes the protrude from side and lock into body of hitch, the handle is in up position, and cant be locked down,as pins will damage the the friction pads(fine as the lock pins sit in the screw head resesses and stay in position even when the release handle lifted) will need to get new metric insert,as hitch is getting faded without the cover,so its of to the shop now to get new one while i still remember, post has been a memory jogger, thanks.

I asked a local dealer how much his hitch covers were, he replied £20, I said forget it,£20 for a bit of waterproof fabric. He then pointed to the hitch covers with his company's name printed on..........£5! That's more like it.
Fallenangel, flowers and bunny rabbits sound O.K. to me, thinking about it I don't think I've ever seen a patterned one.
After I posted above saying I had never seen a patterned hitch cover I spotted a flowered one on Ebay!
i saw that one too but still a bit normal for my taste lol there are blue bunnys o mione but there hard to see on the photo there one just above the pink flower near the locker. but if i see more fabric with pink bunnys there will be a new cover made lol
