I once visited a dealers showroom back in the late 70s that had a scale model of an Eldiss caravan that worked in most ways, complete with functional lights, water system and cooker.
My girls were about 5 and 7 at the time, and they could just about stand up in it, the Dealers took it to camping shows with them, and sold raffle tickets to win it, with the proceeds going to a children's charity, it had been made by the apprentices at the Eldiss factory, and was a real crowd puller with caravanners and there kids being attracted over to their stand by its novelty.
I often wonder what happened to it in the end, it would have been a collectors item as well as a wonderful toy for hours of fun for some lucky child, with the gas disconnected first of course!
