Thanks Shytot - actually, my price range keeps shrinking as I tot up the other things that I'll have to pay for (esp as I figure it's unlikely an awning will be thrown in from a dealer, though I see some do).

No, I'm def not brave enough for Ebay - or the local paper , or private sales from Classified Ads here or elsewhere... maybe for my second van :-)  Though I'm surprised at the number of people I speak to who know someone who is selling their caravan - I've a faint hope something might come via a genuine friend of a friend.

If you camp you will already have alot of the equipment necessary or stuff that will do until you can buying something you prefer. One of the bonuses of buying from the dealer we used was that they fitted new tyres and wheel trims.

We managed our first season with no Awning and then later went to Towsure at Sheffield we managed to get one of the insignia Awnings at an excellent price. They have alot that people have returned because they don't fit or they didn't like them ours was brand new full 1 year guarantee and everything included for less than half of the new price.
