hi im new to caravanning, can anyone please tell me can i use a car battery to run my fridge while we travel

You can but it wont hold the charge for long like a leisure battery.

If your caravan has the normal electrical equipment in good repair & you have twin sockets on your car(or new 13pin setup)with both black & grey leads(or single 13pin on new caravan)plugged into car then your fridge will operate on 12v from your cars' battery while you drive.

When you are parked on site you run your fridge from mains ehu or gas.

Your Fridge cannot run solely of a 12 volt battery it must also be connected via the 12s socket to your car
