I've looked at this on Amazon and wondered if it was worth buying. I have a few cookbooks that I keep in the caravan, including one for the Remoska, but am a bit of a sucker for cookery books (OK, books!). I would be interested to hear how you get on with it. I really need to talk myself out of buying any more stuff to take away and I do have a huge collection of tried-and-tested recipes that I have gathered over the years to use when we are in the caravan, so I am really half-hoping you are going to report back that this one is total rubbish! On the other hand, if it is totally indespensible, I will just have to get one, won't I!
My Mum gave me the book as a present when we got the caravan. its a great book But she is a cook so seems happy to spend her holiday cooking and baking! Did take some ingredents with me but never got time to bake, have tried one or two of recipes and they were good. hope that helps
Hi chrissie7. The book has easy to follow and tested recipes. An ideal book for the first time caravaner. Even has a bit on BBQ's. It is not a rubbish book but I think you could do without it
To save weight I tend to use BBC recipes off the web as they are normally easy to follow and it saves me hauling a pile of cooking books around with me. It is very handy if there is an unusual local produce that you are not sure how to cook but fancy trying it. I did look up squirrel recipes when I was last at Ferry Meadows but that was more of a threat than a desire to eat the little darlings Pigeon and rabbit recipes would probably go down well at Sandringham CC and CCC sites and I can think of a few where a good venison recipe would be useful. I love foraging for food especially in the autumn with the abundant supply of fungi and nuts and therefore a handy source of recipes is always useful to have.
